Headed out the door once more after a busy summer season, this time I'm headed north to Greenland, to travel with Adventure Canada. Can't wait to feel that Arctic air on my face again and meet my friends aboard the Clipper Adventurer! Sorry for the lack of posts/activity on my site, working on changing that, stay tuned :)
Headed to Montmagny Quebec now for the International Accordion Festival. I played there last year and it is a fabulous festival with amazing accordion players from every corner of the globe. Really fantastic mix of styles! I'll be playing fiddle this year alongside Aaron Collis, a great young accordion player from Appleton, NL.
Just sending a hello to everyone and a thank you to all who have come out to shows in the past week. It's a sunny morning in Toronto and I'm getting on the road to drive to Waterloo, where I have a noon hour concert at Conrad Grebel University College, should be a good one! The music has felt incredibly good so far, with highlights being the March Hare last weekend with my brother Phillip Payne and my friend Tom Power, and joining us in the session afterwards Sol Foster all the way up from Michigan. Mighty music!
Ok better get driving! Have a great day everyone! I'm here for nearly a week more, check my Events page to see where you might catch me! Saturday in Guelph I'll be performing with a full choir! We'll be doing a piece I arranged especially for the occasion, my first arrangment for choir. Ok time to go! All the best!
First stop on my ON trip - giving a workshop in Newfoundland fiddling tonight at the Tavern Corktown starting at 6:30. I'll be joining in the session afterwards too - should be a time!
